fuel pump

Can someone tell me the best way to install the fuel pump on an injected engine. The pump is from Van's, he calls for mounting the fuel filter on the gear tower,,, I don't know, I think that it will be in the way of the many cables, I would like to mount it next to the pump it self but don't know where to run the fuel meter and if there are any problems.

Fuel filter

Adam, I did mine per Van's plans. The gear tower is accessable for changing
the filter elements and is easy and straight forward to plumb. The only thing
I had to re-route was the cold air duct from the naca vent on the forward
left side of the fuselage. My filter is mounted on the forward wall of the
tower in a vertical position just under the baggage floor. Hope this helps.
