Funny: How would you designate the open cockpit RV-3B?

Emailing with a buddy yesterday we came up with the following:

I came up with:
RV-J3
RV-2.5
RV-3BOC (open cockpit)

He came up with:
RV-3BNC (no canopy)
RV-3BC (convertable)
RV-3BSPW (Sick, Phat & Wrong)

(what is your entry?) :)

Two images??? [ed. Yeah...the top pic was from somebody else <g>. dr]

BNC has a certain ring to it:D

O.K., now that I have had a chance to ponder this,

RV 3GA ---- looks like something from the 1920-30's, AKA the "Golden Age"

Also kinda reminds me of a little tin Christmas tree ornament I have------- RV 3TO

Convertible implies that it has a top. With no top, I believe it becomes a roadster.
Will it be "pink", I mean coral?

RV-3?

I'm thinking RV-3R (roadster) although it probably spends little time on
the "road". Regardless, This cool picture has been my screen saver for weeks
now. It is such a cool airplane!! It is in deed retro!

RV-3BHM/C (highly modified, coral)
RV-3U2 (U-2 wwII Russian airplane - open cockpit Utochkin)
RV6/2-B (beta-tester)

In the glider world some Schweizer 1-26s have this canopy and it is called the sport canopy. I'm afraid we will have to drop the B in this case. We will have to just call it the RV-3S

I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that I thoroughly enjoy a website run by a man ... who rides a pink scooter. :D

TAP ... TAP ... TAP, hey, my account doesn't work either!

How about

RV-3BO for open cockpit? Oh wait BO, folks might think that is:
#1, why you fly alone
#2, why you prefer open cockpit:D

Expecting to be joining Mel in the ignored column

RV-3/FB - Flour Bomber

I think you should make it convertible. Just make a tip-over canopy that's very easy to remove (I know, easier said than done). Then you get the best of both worlds.

Yeah, but I suspect it won't be using enough roads to make it a roadster.

Perhaps a Skyster, or Runwayster, or Hangarster. Actually, I think it should be a Cloudster.

RV-3C (C=Cloudster)

Cabriolet

RV-3CAB

Add some black & white checker line on top of yellow paint, and you'll create the first single seat cab :D

RV-3ITW

We bikers use the expression "in the wind". Though if he paints it pin..., er, coral, he'll have to keep the 'B' designation - for Blush.

I was thinking about RV-3PMS because of all the comments about his scooter and its "fabulous" color.

But since I don't want my account blocked, I would suggest

RV-3PS for Boeing P-26 Peashooter, which it kind of looks like.
