A week ago last Monday afternoon, 29 Sep, after several rounds of emails back and forth to Allen, I returned my MT-8000 via USPS for diagnosis and repair. I and the local avionics shop had tried and failed to figure out why it had just quit working in the middle of a flight several weeks earlier. I recieved the unit back that next Friday, 3 Oct, all fixed and ready to reinstall. Allen had replace the amp, RF tuner and upgraded the firmware at no charge. For all of you out there thinking of purchasing an APRS unit, the "aviation grade" VHS unit would be my choice. I don't think you will find a better unit on the market, and I know you will not find better after sale service. Thanks again Allen for the quick turnaround. Dan.
