Avmap IV compatability with TruTrak

Is anyone using an Avmap IV GPS to drive a trutrack autopilot in both pitch and roll axis? I have heard different stories that the Avmap doesn't do a very good job, To slow a refresh rate. The Avmap REP claims it works fine. I would like to hear from those who are using this set up in the field and get a true assessment.

Has anyone tried this? I was planning on getting a Avmap EKP-IV and a DigiTrak AP, but if it won't work I may have to rethink my purchase of the Avmap GPS. I guess I could always get a Garmin Hockey Puck GPS along with the Avmap, but that seems like a waste of money.
