What Hartzell Prop & What restictions?

R.P.Ping

I'm looking at an IO-360-B1AC2 (180HP parallel pumped to 190 HP) from Superior and I'm trying to figure out what prop from Hartzell is the Scimitar prop and what are the restrictions in operating RPM if any. Van's catalog P/N's don't exactly agree to the Hartzell P/N's on Hartzell's site. Can someone who has just been through this set me straight?

Thanks

BA prop

Is the one you want....Its the most efficient and the rpm restrictions are not an issue in real life

I have the same motor in about the same level of tume

BA Prop?

Frank, what is a BA prop? Can you give me a part number and what are the restrictions.

Sorry I'm slow...:co

This would be for a RV-7

Chose one of these

PROP C2YR-1BF/F7496-2 (I)O-360 (180hp) diameter:72"

PROP C2YR-1BF/F7496 (I)O-360 (180hp) diameter: 74"

These are the BA (blended airfoil...Scimitar shaped) props.

Still checking......

Frank...Thanks for the info. Alton sent me a letter from Hartzell autorizing a
C2YR-1(B)FP/F7497 on a 180hp.

I wonder if the C2YK-1BF/F7666A4(I)O-360 (180hp or 200hp) diameter: 72" from Vans would be a better choice because I will be pushing 190hp?

I sent an email to Hartzell to ask them. I will post the answer.

Thanks to all.

Nah

Think about it...Just how often are you going to be actually making 190HP?...Almost never in the land of airplane engines.

The prop is limited to 5 minutes at 2700RPM anyway (from memory)......

The extra 10 ponies is not an issue.
