A 19-year-old student pilot was uninjured when his plane flipped during an emergency landing Thursday afternoon in a field north of Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth.
The pilot, who was not identified, declined medical attention at the scene of the 2:30 p.m. accident, said Lt. Kent Worley of the Fort Worth Fire Department.
The Cessna 152 apparently had engine trouble during its approach to the airport, Lt. Worley said. The nose of the plane stuck in the ground during the landing, flipping the plane over, he said.
?That soft dirt made him get stuck,? Lt. Worley said.
The student took off from Hicks Airfield earlier in the day and flew toward Bridgeport before returning, Lt. Worley said.
