Hartzell Prop TBO

I've been aware that Hartzell recommends a 2000 hr TBO for their props, but now have been told it's 2400 hrs or 6 years, whichever comes first. In the last 7 years I've been around here, never heard of the 6 year deal. Anyone have an input on this?

I realize of course that with experimentals this is moot anyway, but does anyone know the actual fact? My Hartzell manual says nothing about either one...

Jerry, there is indeed a time limit and IIRC it is 6 years. This makes sense due to the fact that grease and seals dry out regardless of how much they are used. Can't believe it's not in your manual! I'd surf the Hartzell site or give them a call.

I put in more grease.
