special notice to pilots in the central Texas area

==> ATTENTION PILOTS <==

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER BUSH RANCH WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in the Crawford, Texas, area that the FAA has issued a notam that will expand Prohibited Area P-49, from Wednesday, August 22, through Monday, August 27, for President Bush's visit to his ranch.

There will be a 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight restriction
(TFR) centered on the ACT VOR's 241-degree radial at 14.4 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 1:50 p.m.
local on Wednesday through 11:25 a.m. local on Monday. There will be a smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zone in effect within the larger TFR.

A 4-nm-radius cutout will be centered on the GRK VOR's 057-degree radial at 7.3 miles to allow operations at Skylark Field (ILE). See AOPA Online for the full text of the notam along with a graphical depiction ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/4016 ).

The affected landing facilities are Flying Nd Ranch (22TS), Valley Mills Municipal (9F1), Scott (31TX), Wildcat Canyon (3T8), McGregor Executive (PWG), Clifton Municipal/Isenhower Field (7F7), Waco Regional (ACT), Tigerbird Field (2TS3), Gatesville Municipal (GOP), Womack Farm (75TE), Parrish Airstrip (TX52), Heathrow (TE17), Lake Whitney State Park (F50), Sheriff Department Heliport (TA04), Flying Heart Ranch (70TE), Square K (40TS), Tstc Waco (CNW), Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional (TPL), Wings For Christ International Flight Academy (73F), Hood AAF (HLR), and Barnstormer (TE99).

The FAA also has issued notams establishing a TFR over Waco for the president's arrival and departure from his ranch. There will be a 6-nm-radius TFR centered on the ACT VOR's 089-degree radial at 10.1 miles, extending up to 3,000 feet agl.

The effective times are 1:50 p.m. local until 3 p.m. local on Wednesday ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/4017 ), and 10:20 a.m. local until 11:25 a.m. local on Monday ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/4018 ).

The affected landing facilities are Tstc Waco (CNW) and Wings For Christ International Flight Academy (73F).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
