What did the paint do for weight/speed

Did you weigh it before after ?

Did you find it changed top speed 1 or 2 mph?

Thanks George

I dont know what the before and after weights were but he did say it picked up a couple knots...

I got to see this plane in person, and it's simply GORGEOUS. I don't remember the name of the paint shop, but it's in Brady, TX.

Keith forwarded the following info about his plane. He wrote....

It was painted by Alan Woodson from Texas Aerocolor in Brady Tx. He
likes RV's and the best part is that he want you not to do any of the
fiberglass prep work. "Make it fit and I will do the rest" sold me on
him. He finished it in the time promised and there was not a long wait.
He says he would like to do more RV's . He was very reasonable on his
price as well.

I have an Aero sport O-360 with a Mag and Lightspeed Plasma II ignition.
We put 10:1 pistons in it and ported and flowed the cylnders. I was
getting 163KTAS at 65% and after I painted it and put on the intersection
fairings we are now getting 170 KTAS at 65% and 7500MSL.

The switches came from several sources. Allied Electronics and
Newarkinone, they are Honeywell switches and a fraction of the price that
Gulf Coast sells them for. Also, we got a higher amperage than they sell
so I was able to wire it directly with out reducing the amperage.

I have a Garmin Stack with an OBS, I purchased the OBS because at that
time GRT did not have the ARINC 426 finished and I was wanting an IFR
airplane and did not want to gamble on it. I have seen it installed and
would not have it now, but you put your stakes in the ground and freeze
time so to speak when you purchase everything.

I have not reweighed it yet as I still need to finish the interior and
put in the insulation.

The seats and interior were made by Abby Ebberman of Flight Line
Interiors. She is awesome and delivers on time with a superior product.

That's one of the nicest paint schemes I've seen in a long time! Love that shade of blue...
