Intercom selection help

Any input from those who are using the FlightCom 403 stereo intercom? I don't need anything especially fancy and the FlightCom seems like a solid, basic, relatively low-cost intercom--it has thus been my first choice. However, unlike the more expensive PS Engineering intercoms, it does not have squelch for both the pilot and co-pilot. This was never an issue in the C182, but does it matter in the noisier side x side RVs?

The 403 works quite well in the RV aircraft. Well made and thought out and not a lot of money.
