Skilled AND lucky (king air video)

Incredible

WOW!
I bet the elevators fluttered and disintegrated at the speed they had to have been running after losing 20,000 feet in one minute! Amazing result. The guys showed that if you fly the airplane to the very end, the outcome need not always be fatal.

So many fatal forced landings are caused by a high stalls or very fast touchdowns which could possibly have had a better outcomes with a slow, controlled landing, whether it is into trees, mud, water or anything else for that matter. These guys did it all very well.

I wonder if the bent wing was the result of a high G recovery?

Regards,

What a tank of a plane!! But I tell you, with little or no pitch control I'd have to take the zero on that rectangular pattern!!! Give me the 20 mile B-52 final.

Pretty fast approach

The news story states the approach was 160 kts (188mph). Here is the story.

I have flown in the right seat of this bird several times as I work for a subsidiary of the Assemblies of God Financial Services Group. It was meticulously maintained and sold in 2006 in order to upgrade to a Citation Encore.
I would say that the plane and pilots were "blessed".
