Outside Air Temp probe location

I have a RV-6 with a Grand Rapids EIS. I am trying to decide were to mount the Outside Air Temperature probe. Where have others mounted them? If you mounted it in the wings or aft fuselage how well did it measure the tempurature?

I am thinking of gluing it down to the inside surface of the wings bottom skin in the first bay on the passenger side. I can leave engough wire inside the wing so if I have to remove it when removing the wings I can pull the wing partially off and just scrape it loose with a puddy knife.

RV-6 in the finishing stages.

As far out on the wing as you can stand to put it...that's my 2 cents. If you don't put it in a place that you KNOW will be accurate why bother at all?

another idea

Under the HS, in the metal fairing between the lower HS and the fuselage.

I put my Dynon OAT probe there. I also have the EIS probe located in the pax side NACA scoop. This one consistantly reads 4 or 5 deg F warmer in flight due to it's proximity to the engine. Bad location, but live and learn.
