Need some info here

I have a Garmin 496, Garmin GNC300XL and Digitrak autopilot. I want to be able to select the nav source for the autopilot between the two nav units. I see where I need to set the baud rate for the 496 to 4800 and the 300XL at 9600. Will this cause a problem when switching between two two nav sources? If so what can I do to solve the issue. Surely this has come up before with these popular nav units

I am driving my Trio A/P from my 496 and GNC250XL with a simple switch. They are both RS232. I have recently changed my portable source from the 496 to 796 works just fine.

I am not certain but I think the Trio senses the baud rate and automatically sets itself. A quick call to Trio should answer your question.
