#2:    Plane was purchased used and was brought to Randy for an annual inspection.  What's wrong with this picture? (scroll down for answer)

 

 

Answer:
   These pictures from an RV of an exhaust pipe that was improperly secured, resulting in occasional contact with the motor mount.  You can see in the pics where it has gone through the powdercoat and has actually started a small hole through the steel.  You can also see melted cowl material on the exhaust pipe from where it was rubbing up against (and melting) that.

Solution:
Motor mount repaired.  Installed the proper exhaust mounting hardware, similar to what was used on this engine.  Steel tubes clamped on pieces of hose provides room to wiggle, but not so much that it damages the mount or cowl.  The mounting hardware shown here is from Vetterman Exhaust.
